HORNADY oal gauge

ok i got it in the mail today
and the are the measurements
180gr.sierra matchking
2.858
2.863
2.870
2.863
2.863
2.862
2.870

this device is a little spindly so i am taking into account some rod flex.
but it looks like 2.863

my manual says 2.800
that puts me a long ways from the lands

Seat a bullet in an empty case at 2.863 and try chambering it and see what happens. Also, will it fit the mag?Wish I were there or you were here.Just about a half hour.We would make something work. sam.

ok ,
there was a screw loose .
(yeah i know i know you guys)
a tiny allen screw on the gauge.
and that was giving me apeshit readings.
i measured 10 times carefully
7 of those times gave me a reading of 2.810
does that sound a little closer to reality?

I once had a very tight screw, once I got it in, I had the devil of a job getting it out again!!! But I think tight ones are better than loose ones.
