I think I'll become a democrat

I think I will change my political affiliation to Democrat.

The NC primary is in May, and they are predicting the election won't happen until May.

I figured I could pull a "NRAJoe" and vote for Hilary.

Talking

I believe in voting a "straight" ticket. I don't want to be associated with the "enemy's" camp.

Chris do we all have to come out to NC and put you through some conditioning. I am sure that if we sent you to the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia for a week and then we can send you to PRI. I am sure after those short visits you will learn being a democrat is the worst thing you can do for yourself.

we can hope that FL and Michigan get their way by telling the DNC that if they do not recognize the first votes by their residents that they will remove them from the ballot in FL. If the DNC folds on this Hillary takes Osama

Boy. Talk about freedom and democracy...that sort of stuff just makes me feel warm all over, and proud to be an American participating in open, honest elections.

Like I said, I think they're in Cahoots..........we'll get both with the "dominant" one being "on top." Watching them is getting to be kind of like watching Jerry Springer, only not as entertaining.

I don't think even that would put her over the top, Shaun. It's looking more and more like our choice will be McCain vs Obama.

The subject of Hillary for president is one where Rush Limbaugh was right and I was dead wrong. I remember back when he started talking about the Senate being her springboard, I said, "no way. She has so many negatives that she can't even seriously be considering it." Fooled me...never underestimate the ego of a politician or a politician's wife, I guess.

The Clinton's have been a surprise... but I feel (personally, at least) that they have gotten to where the are through deceit and unethical behavior in many shapes and forms. Granted the name resonates with most Democrats after Bill's 8-year tenure... but Hillary is incredibly devious and crafty, even more so than Bill ever was.

We've gotta hope that McCain can pull it out through Republicans and those disenfranchised Democratic voters who feel it's Hillary or nobody.

See, I would rather Obama be the nominee than Hillary, and considered registering Dem just to make sure he got the nomination. And not to sabatoge their nomination really, but because I would rather he the nominee. I think Hillary is more likely to get away with violating the Constitution even though on the surface she doesn't seem as extreme. I would see her going easy on us her first term in order to get another one while still furthering corrupt causes behind closed doors. Then we'd see a turnaround like we never saw before in her second term.

Obama would be much easier to deadlock. He'd make dumb mistakes and easily end up a one term president.

I'm also hoping McCain will end up choosing not to run for re-election. I'm not hoping any harm to come to him, but with his age a disability isn't at all unlikely.

Realistically, I'm more tempted to change my affiliation to Constitution Party to scare McCain straight, lest he lose the election due to splitting conservatives. When Alan Keyes was competing against Bush and McCain for the 2000 nomination, GW Bush was able to unite conservatives. McCain on the other hand has been rude to the core of the party. To get my vote, he is going to have to be honest about his need to change. His choice of running mate will help to that end.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: I'd rather choose between Obama and McCain than between Hillary and Rudy Giuliani, who are the ones I thought would wind up being the nominees.

Dang; that's twice now I've been wrong in my life...

Question here that might be off topic...I've heard several times lately that if a Muslim converts to Christian then the person must be killed if they want convert back.

Well Obama converted to be a Christian so wouldn't you think we would be hearing about threats on his life ?

Some of them believe that way, Mike, especially the more ignorant, backward types. I don't think that's any firm religious law written in stone, though.

You have to remember that Islam has no central authority or structure, or list of "official" beliefs. Any loudmouth who gets enough people to listen to him becomes a religious leader, and an expert on what everyone else should do.

As far as Obama goes, I don't think he was ever an official Muslim. His father was a non-practicing Muslim, and his mother came from a Christian background. The most he ever did was occasionally accompany his stepfather to the mosque as a young child, and that doesn't make him a Muslim.

But I wouldn't be surprised if some of the loudmouths in the Middle East start a drumbeat about him being an apostate who must be killed anyway, if he becomes president of the U.S. It's a good point; I hadn't really thought about it.

If they have he's been keeping his mouth shut about it, and I don't blame him. If he said anything, people would land on him with both feet, accusing him of just trying to whip up sympathy from the voters.
