As I contemplate a stuck stock on an enfield I can relate. They start off my saying "if the stock is stuck then SIMPLY tap the stock in this way and it will come off." "Simply" That is the most dangerous of warning signs. Things are never that simple. Like the time I was remodeling a bathroom and had to remove a cast iron tub that was rotten. Directions said "simply take a sledge hammer and drop it in the middle of the tub. This will shatter the tub and allow it to be taken out piece by piece." Well, I raised that sledge over my head and dropped/slung it in the bottom of that tub. It ricocheted off the bottom of that tub bounced off the wall hit the ceiling and landed on my foot. Tub was not scratched. I wish it would have hit my head. Wouldn't have needed the X-rays with that one.
