Paratrooper Stock for Universal

Let me start out by saying I'm very new to the M1 Carbine arena other than carrying one years ago thru the rice paddies. I'm not a purist, will let the other guys do that, so correctness isn't an issue. Anyway, I recently picked up a Universal Series III and was having thoughts about trying to locate a paratrooper stock and marry the two. Will the Universal models fit in various paratrooper stock ??

From what I can read/research Universal DID make a paratrooper model but from the pictures I've seen they are totally different from most I've seen for sale.

Just wondering..

Iver Johnson and Plainfield both had paratrooper models but the stocks were different from orginals. As for Universal the stock was even different than IJ or Plainfield and was styled after the MP-40 stock. Since the Universal is not identical to the USGI design I doubt a paratrooper stock can be used without some extensive wood-working.

The main modification is an opening up of the trigger housing hole. And that is only for the later models with the cast aluminum housings.
