penetration?

i wonder what kind of penetration a 250 gr. lead semiwadcutter @ 727 fps. would get?
those are my fave cowboy loads and they seem like they would pack a wallop!

@ 70 yds. they knock the pi$$ out of a metal pig!

That's 36 inches of water (18 inches of BG) and a board. It was still moving as it left the Box, mad as a hornet.

I believe we can mark that one down as "Good Penetration".

my loads are 173 fps slower than those they used on TBOT
but the same bullet

I figure that you are getting about 320 ft lbs at the muzzy. Thats quite adequate for urban zombies. That puts in in the .45 ACP class.

Billy, I don't know if you know about Oregon Trail Bullet Company or not. They make Laser Cast Bullets..I use these in my .41 mag. I think they have a high silver content, anyway a guy at the local gun shop says they have about the best pennatration out there. They are really accurate and don't cost a lot. Last time I checked I think they were about $30 for 500. I know they have gone up since then, everything else has. They have a web site, it you do a search their name will come up. They will also send you all of the reloading info they have if you request it.

yeah the casting i refuse to do?
no i havent forgotten it.
you are welcome to keep trying !

i would rather spend that time working and buying nice bullets with the money.

in 2 hours of work i can buy 1000 bullets.
so it just isnt cost effective for me.
