| Cardinals are very cool looking birds. As many are probably aware, they are the state bird of Illinois. So I see them a lot and every time I here them it sounds as if they're saying, birdy, birdy, birdy, when they sing. Sounds goofy, but next time you see some, take a close listen. There fine until a cat or Blue Jay comes around. Then they get real squaky. lol But most excellent picture. Definitely a keeper and I think A.H., and you should use that as a X-Mas card to send out. Thank you for sharing the picture. Very cool. Quote:
OR, Ralph, I told you to build a nest 6 weeks before winter came, but NOOOOOOOOOOO. LOL

| That female cardinal does look disgruntled, doesn't she? We have some nesting pairs that come to the feeder in our backyard, which in the summer functions as a birdbath. It's really interesting to watch them argue back and forth with the squirrels over whose turn it is to eat where in the feeder. |

| Resident Armed Liberal ![]() | I usually keep a hummingbird feeder or two around, because we're on the major migration routes. We get an incredible variety of the little birds, heading south in the winter and north in the winter. I'm always amazed that something so little and so beautiful can be so vicious and anti-social. If those little guys were the size of T-Rex, they'd be destroying neighborhoods.

| It only took me 33 pictures to get this one. LOL I heard we get humming birds, so I need to buy a couple feeders. I put up six bird feeders so far and two bird baths. It took them a week and a half to figure out there was food in the feeders. I guess nobody had fed them before. I have been seeing a lot of gold finches and juncos and blue jays, but mostly cardinals. The quail has been raiding the corn from the deer feeder. They are pretty funny, they do everything single file. As for a caption, how about "Quit acting like your cold, you big girl bird"! Last edited by BunnyWabbit; 03-13-2008 at 03:19 PM. | I saw a bunch of big old crows in my yard today. Ugly things that poop on everything.

| Well I hope you don't mind, but I copied the image and saved it. Just going to email it to my mom. She loves birds, specially cardinals. Just not of the St.Louis variety. More of a Cub fan. lol

| The Mayor ![]() | My wife must have read this thread! She bought two more bird feeders today and 40 more pounds of bird seed! If any of you have noticed a shortage of birds at your house, well, they're at my house! LOL! After watching Alfred Hitchcocks, The Birds, I decided at a young age to stay on their good side! LOL! |
