the rebates are just an unasked for short term loan with interest. as a bonus, here in the state of MN, we just had the largest tax increase in state history passed.

Yeah, that whole tax rebate thing this year is nothing more then an advance loan on next years taxes. Your best bet is to stick that money in the bank and collect all the interest on it over the next year so you can buy yourself an ice cream cone.

LOL ... thanks to the Democrats, tax cuts will be gone and the taxes will be raised. Just what the economy needs, more from the people when the people need the help.

But Pelosi said the budget sends the message that Democrats "value families and their economic future."
She said the Democrats' spending plan invests in tools and training for U.S. troops, and it invests in children's education, health care and "their future."

Strange, They don't and won't support US troops efforts during the times of combat nor do they support better equipment and training for combatants. Invests in whose children...illegal aliens' children...that's who. A citizen child has to jump through hoops to get educational aid while our democrat congress doles it out to illegal aliens' children, and to those who refuse to work, without refute. This is without mentioning free medical care.
This is just the beginning. If a democrat is elected to the presidency any means of checks and balances will be moot points.
The Boy Scouts have a very appropriate motto that says it best...

Agreed jarhead ... it's all an attempt at smoke & mirrors but they can't fool everyone all the time.

But Pelosi said the budget sends the message that Democrats "value families and their economic future."

... surely she jest... by taking their income through removing tax breaks and raising their taxes? How does this help? Again, I am confused...

She said the Democrats' spending plan invests in tools and training for U.S. troops, and it invests in children's education, health care and "their future."

... how so? Historically the Democrats have been nothing more than a gutting knife for the Democrats. Every time a Democrat gets in office, the military suffers.

... investing in children's education huh? PLEASE, will a Democrat explain this?

... Health Care... in other words, you and me paying for someone's surgery that we do not even know in a universal health care scenario?

... investing in whose future... the kids or their own future as a politician?

What makes it even worse is that the money from the tax increase will not be invested in America.

Of course, the politicians didn't have any trouble voting themselves a pay raise. No Political entity should be able to vote themselves a pay raise. Any pay raises should be voted by the State the politician represents. All Senators, Representatives, and other Government Officials do not have to make the same salary. Let the people of the State they represent control the purse strings and the Politicians will pay a lot more attention to their constituents wishes.

Ive always thought they should be payed whatever the avg pay is in their home state. When they start trying to live on 30,000 dollars a year we may see a few real changes for the better.

Well i guess the best thing to do now is quit working. With 4.00 gas, and having to give 1/2 of everything i work for to uncle same there really is not much to work for.

I'm not sure if this is the same tax raise i had read about in the WSJ a while back, but if it is I am about to get severly depressed. The article in the WSJ was discussing raising the tax rate on people who make over 120,000 a year to somehting ridicolous like 43percent.

Nothing like working for half a year for nothing.

whats amazing is how the media has demonized the bush tax cuts.you know they say that it was a tax cut for the rich, but tell me, who here has ever been given a job by
a poor person. i'm 50 yrs. old and have never been hired by a poor man. anyway check this site out.The Tax Foundation - U.S. Federal Individual Income Tax Rates History, 1913-2008 once on the home page click on the link to compare the tax rates between clinton and bush.

As I've pointed out in another forum, by that logic we should totally do away with taxing businesses and rich people, so they'll give us jobs and WE can pay all the taxes...der...

I'm not 100% sure, but I think they passed a higher tax on fuel too.

Does anyone know for sure and if they did ? Isn't that a kick in our BALLS if they did.
