I'm just glad it happened. About time someone sent them a message they can understand! Also,
since it's illegal to have any flag fly above the U.S. Flag, could it be, we had an illegal, flying flags illegally? LOL

And out of mere curiosity, I've heard some in Texas fly its' state flag above the U.S. Flag, anyone know if this is true or not? It is illegal so if it is true, how are they getting a way with it? Don't get me wrong, I love Texas and wouldn't mind moving there, sorry, don't like the Dallas Cowboys, but love the cowgirl cheerleaders. I've heard this and as long as it kind of goes along with the subject, just thought I'd ask. Remember though, not bashing Texas. Just trying to confirm or not something I've heard. lol But again, personally, I'd love to live there for many reasons, and besides, dem Texans love their guns.

Don't know when it happened but I approve of the action. This is the United States of America and NOBODY'S flag flies above ours here.

As sign of patriotism and courage not seen these days. Good for America.
Lou Dobbs needs to interview him.

Hell, I'd have done it too, even in uniform. I'd probably get in trouble, but I'd risk it. This is our country, not theirs, that's what the border is for.

Veterans will agree on that point... but my gut tells me the politicians will not.

Oh Hell yes! Do they not understand our laws or do they not give a damn about them?

... more the latter. I'd second the idea for Lou Dobbs to interview this guy, that was a great show of PATRIOTISM rarely seen these days.

That man is a HERO and we salute him. Everyone should do that if they encounter the American flag being disrespected.

I think I'd been tempted to also add an attitude adjustment to them while I was there. You know, Multi-tasking!

That is a true act of patriotism, if only more people could display that kind of courageousness. He should be applauded, and awarded.

Glockmeister no that thought/rumor is not true but it is true that under the Texas constituition our flag as is with the U.S. flag flies below no other correctly displayed the Union Jack (U.S.Flag) and the Flag of the Republic of Texas should be displayed upon two seperate staffs at the same exact height. Another note is that unlike the other 49 States the first order of business for the Texas legislature (which under Texas Constituition only meets every other year in official session) must decide whether or not to remain in the Union. Basically a rote exercise but still an important note.

A few years back, while driving past an elementary school, I noticed our flag flying upside down. I stopped, went inside, and told them about it. It was an inner-city school. They thought it was funny! I then explained to them that this was no laughing matter and if they didn't have enough respect for our country and flag, I'd be more than happy to get a news crew out on location and they could explain to them why they found humor in it! I drove back by an hour later and Old Glory was flying in true form again.

Oddly Brother Bob flying the U.S. Flag upside down is allowed and appropriate in ONE situation and one only. Can any of the vets here answer what that one situation is? And while I commend Bob on taking action about what he saw why it COULD have been dangerous for him to take the actions he did?
