New Truck ! please join in.

If you could afford or can afford a new 2008 pick up truck which brand, model would it be.
Example: Ford F 150 regular cab 4X4, Chevrolet Z71 any make or model.
And any information is welcomed to why you choose a certain one, if you want to.

I'm simple I would like to have a Ford F 150 STX Reg. Cab which is a nice looking base model truck .
It has rubber flooring which I like (No Carpet) the interior even looks excellent.
Ford regular cab trucks have 2 narrow doors other than the doors you enter and exit the truck where you can put gear behind the seat.
No other maker has this...A.H

I bought my first pickup a few years ago. Still have it. It is a club cab and after having it, my next truck, yes I'll be getting another truck if I can help it, but it will have to have at least the club cab or crew cab. The standard cabs make me feel to cramped. Then in the winter time, when one has to put all those extra close on makes it even worse.

Elmer, you didn't cornfuse me. I thought I'd lost you though. lol JK

A.H. are you looking at getting one or something? Is that the reason for the thread/post?

Have to say go with a ford. I just sold my 01 F250 with 300k showing on the clock, and I bought a 05 F250. Both diesel 4x4 4 door. Love em.

A Dodge 3/4 ton with the Cummins turbodiesel. My '91 is getting tired, but when it was new it got 24 mpg while lightly loaded going down the highway at 65 mph with the a/c on!

What use will it be put to? A lot depends on use and how often it will be used. Think how high will fuel prices go?

if you want a full-size truck, you'll want to put stuff in it and pull stuff behind it......right? that said, you will want a truck with a frame that can take the loads u put on it. FORD has the beefiest frames.....fully boxed frames with thicker guage steel than ANY other full size out there. hence the poorer mpg's, but at least i know that it can take the punishment......does this sound like an endorsement? maybe a FORD commercial? lol......go with the FORD, A.H.......you will never look back

Sorry guys but if I were in a financial situation to AFFORD a new pickup (seeing as how they all cost more these days than what I paid for my house) I'd want me the Big Dodge 1 Ton Dually 4X4, V-10 extended cab and full length bed. Along with the full tow package. Hmm seeing as how I'd have that big ol pickup then I'd have to go shopping for a new slide in camper for it LOL.... Now if I could afford all that I wouldn't fret over fuel costs too much as I'd have to be richer than Bill Gates to afford it all anyhow!
