I have 4 packages of halibut left from last year. Saving 2 of them for the grill, eating one tonight! Yum!

You might check to see if Army Outdoor Rec. still operates out of Seward.
When I was stationed at Ft. Richarson several of us would go down on weekends to fish. If I recall it only cost us ten bucks a day plus bait. Mind you, this was in the early eighties.
Granted, it's not a private charter but a good time can be had a lot cheaper.
Outdoor Rec. should be available to retired military of any branch.

My grandfather used to be called the Halibut King of San Clemente. He would fish off the pier everyday abd feed the neihbors.

A.C. yep Army Outdoor Rec. still operates out of Seward and it's as popular as ever, I surfcast the homer spit and every now and then drive the tunnel into whittier and cast in the bay, lots of fun

Sure miss all the time Lee, Mack and I spent on the boats. We'd of slept on board if the Cpt's would'a let us.
We'd load all three of us and our camp gear into my crew cab, drive down and spend as much of the weekend as time allowed on fifty bucks each. Well, mine ran a bit more. That old Ford 4X4 had a leaky rear main.
