last i heard the DOD has put the clamps on any ammunition usage because of the lead core. tree huggers don't want any more lead contamination of the scenery. seems live fire only if neccessary. of course our guys don't have to deal with the EPA in the "stan.

Maybe it's one of those single shot M16s.

Years ago, when I was an MP, I was one they sent to Washington when it looked like a anit-Viet Nam war protest was on the verge of becoming too uncontrollable.

They put all of us in a single containment line......full gear...for hours.....with M14s and not a single bullet or mag.

The demonstrators were coming right up and putting flowers in some of the barrels of the rifles (didn't happen to me though) and we were told to use restaint.

I'd liked to have used restraint.....MY kind of restraint.

I was in a unit on the back side of the area so we didn't see as much as the other side but this is the protest where famous photos were taken of draft card burning....flag burning, etc. and not ONE single arrest was ever made....that I know of.

In fact, not one of the guys in my unit was ever debriefed or asked a single question as to what, if anything, we saw.

I kinda got off the subject, didn't I? Sorry.
