parner shells

i have a H & R pardner and engraved on a the barrell it says 3" but i shoot 2" 1/2 shells outof it is this right?

You are actually shooting 2 3/4" shells which is the right shells.The 3" chamber will handle 3" shells also.@ 3/4 meisure 2 1/2 until fired and they open up.You can use either,the long ones kick more. sam.
