870 Express Project

My buddy brings this 870 express by the house, a big grin on his face, "got it for $50.00 he says. My dad being an old duck hunter best describes it as a "mud gun" Since Doug's b-day was close, I talked him into leaving it for a make over.

I only have a before and after pic, didn't want to bore with every single detail. I took the before pic w/ the camera phone. Too lazy to go get the real one.

The stock was done using the tried and true Casey Birchwood Tru-Oil system. I have always got goosd results with it.

The metal was finished using Brownelles Baking Laquer in matte black. I am lucky enough to have acccess to an industrial oven at work, so baking was a snap. Having a booth to spray in was a bonus too. this stuff is stinky with a capitol S.

I deliver it Friday for his birthday. Hope he likes it.

That finish looks better than a factory 870. Good work Jerry.
