Changing/modifying a hammer?

Im thinking about getting the "pink lady" for my wife as a carry gun. The only problem is I dont think she needs to put a revolver in her pocket book that has an external hammer on it. I have heard that you can either have the hammer modified/cut off or replace it with a different one. Where would I find a different hammer and how much do you think it would cost?

DON'T BUY IT! These new Charters are junk. How do I know that? I made the mistake of buying one. The cylinder rattles around like something that a kid made in shop class. It even had a lot of play front to back. The little cylinder stop is sheet metal. They are loose and cheap.

I paid $272 for this new in the box. At the same shop I also bought a used Smith Model 36 snubby for $289 that is 10 times the gun. Get your wife a Smith Airweight with an internal hammer. I paid $389 for a Model 442, and it was that high because it had walnut grips.

This is not hearsay. I had the gun. It was crap. I sold it for $150.
