Thats a good idea...give the government MORE power to attempt to fix problems they created. I think it is time state government are allowed more power and we go back to the way it was in 1787.

Ah, yes...today's Republican Party. Conservative bastion of limited government, states' rights, fiscal restraint and responsibility, and all that other good stuff.

And you guys wonder why I'd rather be called a liberal?

I'm a conservative, just not a Republican. Much like you may be a liberal, but not necessarily a Democrat (I don't know what you are, but for arguments sake).

Well, I'm a registered Democrat, KGunner. But that doesn't mean I'm a True Believer. I'm just trying to singlehandedly restore a little balance to the two-party system...

I was reading a little about this proposal this morning. Interestingly enough, while increasing the power of the Federal Reserve to intervene in many financial areas, it looks like it would actually reduce the power of the government to regulate the stock market for fraud and abuse, by eliminating the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and creating a new Commission with weaker powers.
