| Senior Member ![]() | Private corporations probably have more information about each and every one of us that the Federal government could only wish for. I can actually get closer to the President of our country than I can to the computer room of Wells Fargo. Secret Service has got nothing on the security Wells Fargo has me go through. It's corporate America that we should be suspicious of, not the Feds. Oh, BTW, I work for a major phone company, and we sell all your information to whomever wants to pay for it. |

| Senior Member | Interestingly, I had my application to a hunting website/forum refused yesterday because I wouldn't give them my full name and tell them where I live. The admin I was in contact with said that he needed such information to determine if I was friendly and would "fit in" with the group. He even went on to tell me I was subscribing to a "conspiracy theory" when I pointed out that I felt he was invading my privacy and that identity theft is a real threat today. I too used to work for "the phone company". I know even an application for phone service puts your personal information on the computer data base even if you don't get a phone. |
