Amber Alert Issued for Teens After Baltimore Home Invasion

An amber alert was issued Tuesday for two Maryland teens after they were abducted following a home invasion in Catonsville.

Baltimore County police say a car in which the two missing brothers were last seen has been found in Baltimore. However, police say the teens are still missing.
Baltimore County police said six men wearing masks went into the home about 3 a.m. and tied up 10 people inside. The men left about 11 a.m. with the two brothers.
State police said 16-year-old Sterling Blackwell and 17-year-old Stephon Blackwell were last seen in a 2004 Black BMW 645 with temporary Maryland tags.

FYI people... !

Well, various reasons. Could have been completely surprised in the middle of the night (which seems to be what happened) ... didn't have time or the resources to fight back, anything is possible.

No motive... no additional news yet available.

That many people you would think so but who knows could be a rich family and they are holding them for ransom too. The way it sounds it could be that too considering they tied everybody up

I'm also guessing drug debts are involved, although it's strictly a guess.

That was my guess... you voiced it. Has to be a debt payment issue... I see no other real reason...

Exactly why . . .

. . . it is important to keep a handgun at the ready.

I'm not saying you have to wear it 24/7 but do know where it is and
practice getting to it quickly. A home invasion is also a psychological event and if you can become the aggressor it will be a major factor
in survival.

If someone or more than one person invades your home you must be of the mindset they have already declared their intention for bodily harm.

That's why I keep my KA-BAR within easy reach beside my bed and my SKS and 10/22 not far away. I figure I could have my SKS ready to go in 5-7 seconds if I knew what was happening. Its that period right after you're conscious but not quite fully awake and aware of that's happening that worries me.

Sadly along with all the other tragedy on the news these days I hadn't heard of this, but it again reasserts the need for vigilence in todays world. It seems more and more the dirtbags aren't really looking for the big score they only want any score they can get and should you be unfortunate enough to be a small score you chances of survival diminish exponentially. Having the means to defend oneself and family immediately to hand it seems has become an essential rather than a precaution. Makes me very concerned as to where we are going as a people.

And if that fails...(15) M-100's and nails (or steel BB's) wrapped tightly with duct tape...

i wish
improvised explosives and booby traps are illegal....period
their reasoning is because a fireman or law enforcement officer could fall prey to one
hell, even if it was a burglar you will still get stuck with at least man-slaughter
i wonder if it would be legal to use if you put a warning sign out front?

There is a tax stamp fee for each and every explosive device you may own. You also have to follow local zoning safety codes. But...don't think for a minute that I don't have a SHTF plan ready and the materials to create such a thing in such a situation.

However, I don't have any assembled or created at this time. But, no law against keeping duct tape on a roll, BB's in a container and fireworks in a lockbox in my closet.

trip wires, IED booby traps, etc... Illegal...but, in a super-SHTF scenario, I would most certainly use any means of protecting those I care about and myself.
