Got one and was in for a shock. The holster looked older than those I'd seen and the gun had a few small scrapes on it but the serial number is 934 anyone know how old this czech gun is? looking forward to shooting it. Is there a reason not to shoot lead bullets in these poly rifled barrels?

Personally, I prefer to use FMJ bullets for target practice and plinking. You can get some good ones at reasonable prices (PMC, Sellier and Bellot, etc., and of course Wolf if you don't mind a little inconsistency). The cleanup isn't nearly as bad. Now, I'm no tree-huggin' "green" guy, but the jacket will also help reduce the dangers of the lead core.

big boomer mine has a lot higher number than yours, mine was made in 88 and it's says that on the right side frame.
look and see if it says...she ?? X The question marks will be the year, in my case it has 88 on mine your's will have a different number probably.
The 2nd one I bought was an 89.

I shoot Berry's copper plated lead bullets in my .380 cal (9 mm Browning) CZ-83 with no problem at all. I haven't looked to see if they have some suited for 9 mm Makarov but I'd be willing to bet that they do. My CZ-83

Mine says she-84 have a box of sellier & bellot to try out when the range dries out. can I use 9mm or 380 dies to load these? maybe 9mm sizer and 380 crimp backed off a little?

It is a makarov 9mm, a bigger diameter and shorter round than a 9mm luger. Bigger dia and longer round than a 380. Dont try and use the wrong ammo in your weapon.

The cool thing about these are their smooth bore barrels. They don't have any rifling in them just some gentle tapers that you can not see unless you look at the reflections off the barrel.

Wolf ammo is still less than 20c a round. Pretty hard to justify reloading them.

The she 84 is a reference to the factory that they were built at and the year. 1984.
