Thanks for the great submarine pictures Marine1. I was in the nuclear navy and served aboard the USS Ulysses S. Grant (SSBN-631) from '75-78. A lot of the older guys then served on the old Gato and Balao-class fleet boats back in the days of the diesel fleet. Our chief-of-the-boat had served on them during World War II and retired from the Navy after my first patrol. We were fortunate to have served with that generation.
Thank you for your fine service in the Marines. I was recently a Defense Department investigator assigned to a Marine Logistics Group/Combat Logistics Battalions, I MEF in Western Iraq. Marines are a great bunch to be with, especially down range.
