God Bless and Rest in Peace, Mr. Heston; and thank you for what you have left us to remember you by. Wil Smith's remake of your Omega Man is a pale imitation and nobody will even be Moses but you.

Funny thing. On Friday, for no particular reason I can think of, I decided to put on one of my favorite Charlton Heston movies, The Greatest Show on Earth. It was only his third movie and he is the second male lead behind Cornell Wilde, but even there you can see the greatness of the actor beginning to blossom. I always enjoyed his writings in Guns & Ammo, and I was very sad to learn he had Alzheimer's. He will be missed as a elder statesman of the pro-gun movement, and as an actor.

I so wish he had run for president at some point in his career as his stances would have been outstanding for this country.

Come on, you knew someone had to...

But he was a great actor and we could certainly have done worse as a president of the NRA.

A class act all the way.

He's up in Heaven, shooting angels now.
