Rumor report...

Ok fellow gun owners. We all, as gun owners have a very important stake in this years elections. And I guess to be honest, from here on in, we have a stake in every election at every level of Government as far as our gun rights go.

But with this years Presidential election, we'll have to basically choose between the lesser of 2 evils. (MHO that is) What I'm getting to is, with whom ever McCain chooses, and if that person accepts, will it, would it or could it make him an even lesser evil?

Because the news media, while I watched it this morning, and FWIW I was watching WFLD Fox News Chicago, put it out there that McCain might be seeking Condoleeza Rice as his running mate/Vice President. Now the news clip they showed, showed McCain as being surprised, news to him so to speak. He's commented, in the clip they showed, "that's news to me, guess I must have missed the signals".. Something along those lines if not word for word...

With that said, would that be a good choice for McCain? For us, as gun owners? Would that take some votes away from Obama, if he ends up being the Democratic nominee? Which it looks like he will be. Personally, I think it would.

Then, would that be a good thing? Anyhow, as I said, it's no more than a rumor and the only news station I heard/saw it on, was WFLD Fox News Chicago.

Let's kick this around. If it is Condoleeza Rice; Is it good or bad? If not her, who then? Who as Vice President, would make McCain an even better choice over who we may have to choose from? We all have an idea as to what Hillary's plans are for gun owners. And no matter what Obama says or how he camouflages it, I truly believe we all know where he actually stands. Just like we all know he had to of attended plenty of sermons by Reverend Wright. I'm sure this Reverend didn't change his sermons or the way he did them just because Obama was in the audience. Just like I'm sure the Reverend didn't change the way he felt when he spoke privately with Obama, when he sought both spiritual and friendly guidance. Just like we all know, he had to have had some influence on Obama's beliefs (MHO anyhow)...

Don't know enough about her feelings on the issues to say. My first thought is No but that could change. I would rather have Ron Paul.

I think Condi Rice is well educated and well qualified for the job; I really don't know where she stands on 2A issues and would have to find out for sure--this is a very telling attribute. I'd much rather have seen her running for Pres on the D ticket than hillary !!! (I do consider Ms. Rice as a person of substance) Unfortunately, as previous NSA advisor and Sec. of State, she'll be dragging baggage along from the previous adminsitration (although quite likely not her fault) which might be exploited by our opponents.

Although I'd like to see Ron Paul in the Veep slot, I don't know how likely that is. It would balance out McCain to some extent. Huckabee would be OK with me, but I don't think he'd grab the votes in kalifornia, PRNJ, or more lib NE states. Colin Powell might be a player. He might be done with politics, though.

I'd love to see Colin Powell too ... but I feel after the abuse he took, he might have thrown in the towel as you allude to. Although, given the fact it is a new chance with different players, he may reconsider. I wouldn't have much of a problem with Rice or Powell.

Yeah That's good! Stormin Norman would at least be a breath of fresh air in an overly stifled White House
