Thank you, I'm happy to see they are finally going after the idiot judges who cause so much grief in todays society. And it was refreshing to hear the officer ream the media for it's stupidity!
They really don't like good cops, do they? I mean, look how hard they have to work when good cops keep bringing dirtbags back into their courtroom. Gee, I thought I took care of that poor fella last week!
His response was entirely reasonable and very measured, considering the circumstances.
I'll tell you, the criminal justice system is messed up in this country, but if you bail out on 2 felonies and get picked up again for one, it's very likely that you don't need to be out in public anymore.
I can't find any articles about this, though. I had to check a few message boards.

The man in the interview is San Francisco's Police Officers Union President, Gary Delagnes... no idea of his current status with the SFPD.

I'd be stunned if he didn't lose his job...Politicians don't like bloody noses given to them by anyone...
Obviously so, Larry...the public has a very short span of retention. Yesterday, today or tomorrow, where criminals are concerned, who rob, mame and kill people, there should be no question of what time elements, nor how many times stressful measures are implied, in one form or another. Removing criminals off the streets, after multiple bondable releases, and revolking such further releases, should be a #1 priority, with any court of law. This is one ballsy copper, who is stepping forward, by taking control, at his own peril. This............. I highly respect, and admire, as I am sure many military NCO's would do for the welfare of their troop commands.

... as I respect and admire him too. Sometimes, the gloves have to come off.

- Coeloptera
Precisely the point...Coeloptera... (10) people may have heard of it, but what about the other (10), like yourself, and I who had not, until recently? I just received this today! Multiply this by (10's) and we have 50%........ unaware! Today..we see around many boards on the internet, "this has been around before"! Meaning no disrespect to anyone..but...So what??? Why bring light on it? Good way to discourage some folks, or newbies with important information, they may have to share, in the future? Information is the key to knowledge.
... because politics in San Francisco and other cities alike are in the same conundrum... Since when do politics say whether or not you arrest a drug dealer?
You say,"Information is the key to knowledge." yet you precede it with "Why bring light on it? Good way to discourage some folks, or newbies with important information, they may have to share, in the future?"
Guess I just don't get it ...

Not to sound un-patriotic, barbaric, or whatever....but it sure seems to me that other peoples/societies/leaders in the past have had much better ideas what to do with criminals. Not that despots and dictators are great guys, but for the most part they take no BS from criminals. Feed 'em, house 'em, support them after release with "programs"?
Nope, just make 'em disappear. NEXT!

Exactly rondog ... at least have the balls to do something with them. I blame more than just the politicians steering the DOJ ... but also the attorneys for the PD that are not protecting the officers.

Looks like they need a concealed carry law, Judges to convict the criminal and saturate the streets with more officers.
But It would be cheaper to allow the citicens to carry concealed pistols.
Then there wouldn't be any court cost, incarsuration cost nor the need for more officers which is a higher pay roll.
A lesson to be learned here. The citicens of the Queer Capital of the World needs law abideing citicens carrying pistols.
I found it rather "upsetting" that a member of the press had the nerve to ask about the criminal's right to bail. I'd bet my last breath if this animal had broken into her house and killed a member of her family while trying to escape, she'd be saying the very same things and asking the very same questions the Union President is.
The jerk who killed the cop should have never been out on bail.. People like that should be.... well lets just say the Chinese justice system works well..
OH, OH OhhhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHHh!!!!! ( remember Sam Kinison)
God I wish we had more people like that in LE around the country. I hope that fellow ( in the video)starts a trend around the country and gets local LeE officals to stand and take the media and the judicial system to task for all the shortcomings such as that!
He is absolutely right in every respect. California is one of the worst violaters of public trust and victim justice in the entire USA.
Man that makes me feel good to hear that gentleman say what he did ! I hope it is contagious.

If I thought for a minute we could trust our criminal justice system to get it right all the time, I'd be right with you.
But go look up "The Innocence Project" online sometime. Scary stuff.
That and we "create" a lot of criminals with some of our drug laws. Clog the courts and prisons with 'em to. I still say we change up our simple possession laws and devote the freed up resources to keeping any and all violent offenders in longer and under less pleasant circumstances.
