I know many say Savage or Remington takes the cake on this statement. I take it to mean that a new rifle out of the box has some inherent tendency to shoot more accurately than others with FACTORY AMMO at the get go.

I have never been one to rely on factory fodder for any of my firearms so I don't give any credit to the statement really, I handload almost exclusively for everything I shoot aside from rimfire of course, but I can see how it might make some sense.

So I am curious what that statement means to you .
AK,

If you undstand accuracy (not saying you dont) then you'll get that it doesn't have to mean with factory ammo. Some guns are inherently more accurate than others. The fit and tolerances are tighter, and everything lines up right. A properly manufactured gun, out of the box, will be inherently more accurate than others with locking lugs with bad contact, chambers that aren't square and properly aligned, etc. Out of the box accuracy means just that...that whatever you choose to shoot in it, it's more likely to be accurate.
