220 swift

I put this on the ruger forum, but this looks like a good place to put it too....

Hello everyone. I just bought a M 77 Mark II Target Grey in 220 swift and I was wondering first if anyone had the same gun and wanted to share some data on loads that work well out of it.

If nobody has the same gun, then does anyone have some loads for the swift that worked especially well for them. I'm just trying to get a little research in before I hit the loading room. Thanks.

50g Sierra/38.2g IMR 4064 used to work for me back when I had a 220 swift. I never tried a heavier bullet than that.

Swift loadings

The above load is a good one. The longest shot I ever made with my Swift was with 37.5 grains of 4064 behind a 55 grain Sierra spire point bullet. In my opinion, one great caliber. I don't have the same rifle as you, mine is an old Model 70 Winchester.
