Hello from Florida

Hello All,

Just joined obviously. Hopefully this forum is as fun and useful as a couple of others I frequent. I have been living in St. Augustine for about 4 years now and haven't hunted or fired a gun in that entire time. I live previously in New Hampshire and it was a lot easier to do so there. I have 4 children and the middle two, twin girls, have been after me to take them hunting and shooting like we used to. I am hoping to find some good information on firearms and hunting for kids as well as learn a few new things myself.

Paul

Welcome to G&G. We have a nice bunch of folks here, quite a few from Florida. Some of them will be able to give you information about hunting and target ranges there. Get those girls shooting for our young shootists will be the hope for the next generation.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. I bought a BB gun today for the girls. We can shoot that in the neighborhood to practice basic skills. The .22 will come on their birthday in May. If they behave and learn like their older brother, a .243 (I think, depending on what I learn here) will be purchased in time for deer season. They are small girls so I am having a hard time finding guns that fit them properly. Hopefully I can get some good info here as they progress. They are very upset there is no venison in the freezer, hopefully they will put it there this year.

Welcome to G&G! I don't know much regarding your AO, but the Osceola Nat'l Forest is west of you - good hunting there I've heard.
I'm in Tally myself.
You should be able to find a range around Jacksonville, I would think.
