Smile Para Ordinance?

I am looking at getting a Para "Carry 9". Does anyone know anything about this particular gun, or even the reputation that Para has? I like the gun, but I don't really know much about the company. Any comments are welcome!
Thanks!
Michael

I have a Para Tac4 in .45 caliber with the LDA trigger. Out of the 11 1911A1s I own it is the most accurate with never a FTF or FTE. I looked at one of the Carry 9s and was impressed with what I saw. I didn't shoot it however. Para is made in Canada.

I have a para warthog .45 which is a powerhouse carry gun. I have had some failures to feed with this; don't know if its the double column mag or the ammo (or me). 9 might be more reliable--expecially if single column mag. Quality construction on the gun. Make PDA in 9 as well.

thanks!

Thanks for the info, I was also wondering about the LDA trigger. I dry fired the gun a couple of times, and I thought I liked the feel of it. I have a glock so I'm used to the DAO trigger. Any comments are welcome!

Heard good things about the LDA (warthog is SA--trigger's OK but a little inconsistent maybe due to the firing pin block which I like being there by the way). The PDA is a 9 I believe, small and compact with LDA trigger (also LDA's have safeties as well if you choose to use them -- it's kinda in between SA and DAO). I believe it's single column mag as well. Maybe try the PDA or other LDA mod at the range and see if you like it ?

Since we're on the topic of Para-Ordnance...I have one that I inherited from my grandpa. First of all, its a great weapon. I personally have put about 1,500 rounds through it, no telling how much he shot it. I have never had any issues with it. I carry it for work everyday very comfortably. The biggest thing lately is that I guess the timing is off, but it has started throwing the brass in crazy directions. (One actually hit me on top of the head) I'm kinda stumped about this pistol though. It's stamped Tank Officer's .45 on one side and Officer's ACP on the other. It's identical to the Colt Officer's model, but for the life of me I can't find where Para made an Officer knock off. I've found all their other 1911's just not the one I have. Can anyone help me out?

Other than the feed issues, any problems with the warthog. I like the look and feel of the gun but Im afraid that the beavertail will get me in the gut while carrying IWB. Other than that its a sweet little gun. I like it and the Kimber Ultra Carry II. Both however are currently out of my price range
