Hamas Cleric Predicts 'Rome Will Be Conquered by Islam'
A sermon last Friday by a prominent Muslim cleric and Hamas member of the Palestinian parliament openly declared that "the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital," would soon be conquered by Islam.
The fiery sermon, delivered by Yunis al-Astal and aired on Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV, predicted that Rome would become "an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread though Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, even Eastern Europe."
"Allah has chosen you for Himself and for His religion," al-Astal preached, "so that you will serve as the engine pulling this nation to the phase of succession, security and consolidation of power, and even to conquests through da'wa and military conquests of the capitals of the entire world.
... there isn't a whole lot left to interpret wrong...I wonder if the non-extremist Muslims will address this at all. Hopefully this is just their standard rhetoric... but I have my doubts...

I believe it would be safe to say that if they took out the Vatican and the Pope, it would cause WWIII. That would be the end of most of those rag-heads and their stinking(literally) women, too! PC be damned! Nuke the bastids!

I rather like the idea of cutting off all sources of income from the USA by becoming energy independent... and close the borders to all but legal immigration.
Let them stew in their own hatred of "others"... while we (as sovereign nations) monitor their actions to prevent an offensive (meaning terrorism, not just smell) posture.

LarryO1970 asks "why don't we drill for our own oil". The answer is simple. We have become a country of weak-rear end wussies who have a congress that reflects what we have become. Everything is politically correct and NIMBY. The green people talk solar and wind yet when a suggestion is made where the solar and wind production will be put no body stands up and says here-here-here---it is always there-there-there--as they point to another region of the country. No one dares to mention the eastcoast with the likes of Kennedy, Schumer, Clinton etc yelling and screaming about pollution--funny but they have been drilling in the Gulf of Mexico for years yet the beaches of Padre Island and the Fl panhandle are just fine--they yell and scream about Alaska pollution as if the Valdez was caused by something other than a drunk captain. We drive around in monster trucks and cars and use up 25% of the world energy produced with little over 1% of the world population. We are getting everything we deserve including a congress that is as useless as a teat on a boar hog.
And this is a great example of someone who understands how science works in terms of belief. If you receive new evidence, you evaluate it, then change your beliefs accordingly.
Still, funny words from the cleric, there. Big talk, but really...it's all for show. They need to maintain a certain level of the appearance of religious fervor or their street-cred suffers.

They have said this about western civilization, the US, Israel and others. Hasn't happened yet. Just more foolish things from a fool's mouth. All we need to do is just keep our guard up and see if they try anything. I don't trust our government with any pre-emptive attack after the Iraq WMD debockle...so I cannot support the attack of any state or country based upon threats and jaw flappin'.

If there is to be a war force Congress to actually Declare War. No more police actions or peace keepers. If our Military is to be put in harms way make it a Declared War and bomb the enemy back to the stone age along with any Country who offers them help, support or sanctuary. A few nuclear bombs and the whole Middle Eastern Oil Fields will be unusable for a very long time, thus cutting off their money flow.If we must fight, take the war to them. With no oil to gain see how quickly other Nations will pull away from them.
Let the enemy and all Nations know that this is Total War and that Our Nation will brook no interference from anyone and that the war will continue until Our Nation accepts an unconditional surrender from our enemies.
If our Government is not prepared to fight this kind of War then don't get the U.S. into one.

Congress HAS declared war!
All that is necessary for Congress to legally declare war is to officially fund a war. There is no proceedure mentioned in the Constitution for declaring war. Congress can pretty well go about it any way they want.

You're right, Mitch. ........but if you think about it, they've been at war with us for quite some time. They haven't seen "Shock and Awe",...... yet! They consider us a "paper lion". Someone needs to buy them a clue. Just one Trident submarine has enough fire-power to level the whole Middle East in a matter of seconds. Never mind our Air Force. The more intellegent "rag heads" know full well that as long as they stay terrorists they can and will hide amongst the masses of innocents waiting for us to make the mistake of killing the "innocents" to further their propoganda. Nations that have govts that support this know also what would happen if they were open to declare an all out more focused war on us.
there has been 2 rather famous leaders in history who knew how to deal with this islam issue,unfortunately no political leaders in our country or any other who are willing to do what needs to be done.
