Let see some other jeeps or other hunting vehicles

Just wanted to see some other folks hunting vehicles. This is my wife's, but she don't drive it much anymore. Yep i get to wax it, take care of it, make sure everything is in working order. Thats what we do. OK i know she looks clean and unused, but i just can't see to neglect her... the jeep that is, so i took one of the nice days last week and painted the frame, waxed the under side of the hood and spent all day making it look brandy new again. Its a 2004 Jeep Wrangler with the six cylinder block, 5 speed. And it does like the gas. After the days got bad again guess what, she's back in the garage all dirty again. But i won't show ya those pictures. It went something like this. I'll take the Jeep today and you can drive the other one today. Well this day it was rainy and muddy all the way down the farmers road out to the main road, and the dang thing looks like she four wheeled it over the back fields to get to work. LOL. Well i take it hunting most of the time and it sure is a pleasure to drive. Only has 52,000 miles and is ready for what ever ya dish out. Maybe you guys can relate to the time spent and i sure would like to see what you use even if ya did not have the time like i did to clean her up. http://www.gunandgame.com/forums/att...1&d=1208220177

I'm not a hunter, but my dad hunted elk every year. I have his '56 Willys CJ5 that he used to hunt with, and I'm currently restoring to showroom stock condition. It was in indoor storage for 30 years, so it's really in excellent shape, considering how most old Jeeps ended up.

Here's how it looked when I rolled it outside for the first time in 30 years, I currently have it down to the frame. The frame's been sandblasted and powdercoated, and it's ready for my lazy ass to get after it again. My biggest problem is lack of workspace. When it's done, it's going to be my runabout, and trail exploring Jeep, since I live in Colorado after all.

Thats what i like to see fellas, they don't need ta be pretty, just working or being restored. Thanks for the pixs fellas.
Hey ya murph, i don't think i could pull something like that off, walking up that boulder, it looks like i'll have ta try that when the wife isn't looking..

rondog she is a peach, nothing like the old timers to get your blood flowing again.

Minionsram I was trying last year to find a dodge or chevy 86 in Virginia but didn't have much luck. The autos in Virginia have little or no rust on them and are priced fairly well. Thanks for the pix.

That should do it Irish. I had a Isuzu Trooper 1988 and the ground clearance was respectable enough to may be get there, but the four cylinder wasn't the ticket on power.
It was a great machine, but i sold it after it reached 287,000 miles, wasn't much left in her after i hauled tons of foundation stone for the retirement home i built. You would of had a good bust if ya seen me coming down the highway, wheels sometimes leaving the road with no steering....

AK
Looks like the little feller is having a good time. Thanks for the picture.

jerry your right about use, she takes it on the snow days and thats what concerned me. Ya got ta use them or they seem to be wasted.

Here's my cj-7. Spent about a yeaer fixing it up. runs like a champ with the I6 and 4sp. It stays clean since being restored, but my New sierra has been covered with mud for the past month. Work has been taking me off the beaten path pretty often lately

What year is yours nathan?Mines a 97 model, the last of the GQ wagons. My wife also drives a GQ.Hers is the first of them,an 88 model. Both are 4.2litre diesels.I wouldnt own a petrol or a 3.0 litre diesel.Mine has 265k on it and the mrs has just over 300k.They are tough as nails.Very capable in the bush.Ive been very supprised where this thing will go.But i would still like one of the 79 series toyota troopys. My uncle has one and its a ball tearer.Coil springs in the front.Plenty of room in the back for a fold up bed.

Talking

Did somebody say "Jeep"?

05 TJ driver here, I6 engine, 4" lift running 33x12.5x15 BFG All-terrains. I have no complaints about the AT's versus the mudders that a lot of people run on their rigs- this girl's my daily driver as well so I need some pavement manners. I'm also only 5'6", so the 4" lift does me fine- the running joke is that if I did the 6" lift and 35's, I might have to jump to reach the roll-bar and pull my happy self into my rig!

Though I haven't taken her hunting yet, she's already seen a lot of offroad action- there's no shortage of trails out here in the desert!

Here she is... as she was when I rescued her from life as a mall jeep and then all grown up.
