i use night crawlers but after it is realy hot they cant smell that worm so it gets hard but my one buddy when it gets that way has this fancy stink bait that realy gets them bitten i dont know what kind it is though but it was from Texas. and one time he killed a chicken hanged it in a black garbage bag for about 3 weeks and it was rotten and stunk but as soon as you put it in the water a fish grabbed it. LITERALLY!

Elmer try this. Your single right?

JACKS CAT ATTACK CATFISH BAIT RECIPE

mix 1 lb of aged in the sun chicken livers and 1 package of hot dogs together in a blender and mix. This may be best performed outside or with wife gone. In a gallon jug place a half a loaf of bread torn into bite size pieces, pour the liver and and hot dog mix over it. add 2 cans of nacho cheese, 1 can corn, 1/4 bottle of Tabasco, and a dozen worms cut up, to the mix. next get rubber gloves and pour this mixture out and knead good until it gets thick and a dough like consistency. Store in the sun, in a large plastic container, and handle with care.

Chicken liver, shad, nightcrawlers, & always have some dip bait around in case fresh bait is not handy.

Stinkbait

Stinkbait and the bloodier and stinkier the better. If your dog cannot stand your smell you have reached catfish nirvana.

That one was just about at the limit of too big for eating. Gotta chunk the bigger ones up instead of trying to cook fillets. Andy's is a great fish batter too. throw in some slaw, rye bread, and a couple of frosty sodas or barley pops & your in there.
Heres a better pan sized next to my bud's HAWG Strangest bait I ever heard of was bar soap. Zest i think.

Raid the Mrs. underwear drawer for a pair of hose (any color will do).

Snip off a square piece and wrap the bait, tying the corners. Imbed hook through the bait and hose.

Will stay on well and the catfish don't mind.

Nice catch. Looks like the one on the left ate a cat or something.

Hose works well for unruly chicken livers too.
