Two types of grenade launchers were used. Type 1 had 6 gas exhaust ports and type 2 do not have them.

Hippie Power!

So... while I was at the gun shop getting more patches and stuff, one of the employees asked if I managed to get the Cosmoline off the SKS. I told him that I got most, but not all. He mentioned the carwash idea again, and I pointed out to him that people will likely misunderstand the situation. Then he quietly, almost shyly, mentioned that he uses something called "simple green" or something like that. I told him that I had never heard of it. He explained what it was- basically, an all-purpose cleaner that's not so harsh on everything... then he added shyly, "and it doesn't hurt the environment."

Well, went to the Whole Foods market anyway, as I was wanting to get some flowers for my fiance, and while they didn't have the stuff he was asking for by name, they did have "Seventh Generation," which I assume is similar.

So far, I have to say that it's working great. It's dissolving the Cosmoline quite nicely while I wipe it off with paper towels. So... behold the power of hippies... lol. I'm liking it a lot if for nothing other than the lack of fumes while I work with it.
