GlockMeister, I have had that funny feeling for the past 6-8 months that something is not right and that some bad event is going to happen. Not sure what, the economy or a terrorist attack or something else.. I have been trying to prepare as quickly as possible. Hopefully I am wrong, but I have had alot of preminitions come to fruition in my life. Alot of bad going on in the world.. As I am typing this, there is an interview on CNBC going on, and the buzz on the street today in the market is that they are scared of what the next shoe is to drop ..

Hatter... that shoe is what we are all waiting on ...

It's not a matter of "if"... but more a matter of "when" we will get hit next. It's reality... not pessimism.

As civilians... we'll need to protect ourselves when the time comes, plain and simple.

Unfortunately, it will be global... to include inside the borders of the US. Be ready...

I fired one off to a group of Wisconsin Senators. As I get replies, I will let you know what they say...

I received a reply from AK Senator Ted Stevens regarding my Email about HR1955, now S1959.

In short he said he will take my concerns about the constitution particularly the 1st amendment (though I did mention the 2nd as well) to heart. He also states that as of yet it has not come up for discussion in the Senate nor has it been scheduled to thus far.

His general overall tone though, I think, implies he favors it.

The current govt has become the domestic enemy. This is draconian. Same thing Hitler did. Come get em. The next shoe to drop will probably be credit card debt..

To answer one of your posts/replies LarryO, about as citizens how or what can we do to stop this.
Many, many, many, many, many SIGNATURES on a petition might get the message across. But then, I'm sure every name on that petition will then be on a list, or they'll just use the petition as the list, as combatants/enemies of the state???

MadHatter, not trying to out do you or anything, but I've had this feeling ever since 9/11. It wasn't only about terrorist attacks, although it is still a concern. They're just patiently waiting. But it's also started when the HR1022 ban came about. Then it got worse with the thread/post someone left about soldiers being asked if they'd fire on Americans? Then it got even worse with the thread/post about the arrangement I'll call it between Canada's and our military in regards to civil unrest. Every time there's a shooting like the V.Tech or NIU or quite honestly any shooting it gets worse.

Then factor in all those that hate us, how much the war is costing us, North Korea and Iran's Nuke programs. China buying up all the raw materials as far as nickel, brass, aluminum, lead to name a few. Then there's immigration and the economy. I could go on but you get my point.

Not sure I'll ever "mentally" be ready for such a thing as is described in the bible, for those who believe in that. And I'll admit. I do. I just can't believe some aliens started this race. I can't believe we just happened and evolved. Why then did we stop evolving. Why don't monkey's or gorillas evolve. Physically, I'll fight until my last breath...If that's what it takes and what I have to do. Again, I could go on but see no reason...

And on a completely totally different conspiracy theory scale. You know how in the mail you get offers say from your mortgage company and in with your statement is something for say, mortgage or life insurance through them and all you have to do is cash some check for a 30 or 60 day trial and if you don't cancel it, your mortgage account will automatically be charged a minimal fee once a month? Well wouldn't it be ironic/scary that if in these rebate checks we're soon to be getting that upon excepting them we'd unknowingly be agreeing to something? DOOO DOOT DOOO DOOT DOOO DOOT DOOO DOOT lmao I love the conspiracy theorist in me. Sometimes, it's way the hell out in left field. But hey, shhhhhhhhhhhhh, you just neva know.

Not sure signatures mean much nowadays. Some of the pre-Iraq protests were some of the largest in human history, but it went ahead anyway because realistically, what can the populace actually do?

Then again...nonviolent protests did help India out a lot when they needed them. Then again, that was just about the entire population unified on one issue.

Oh how I could go on. PM me if you want a detailed, non-condescending, relatively basic explanation of all this stuff.

An ARMED populace prevents losses of rights.......thank God we still have this.

Cheers.

as Mao said (in his own way.......... signatures mean more than guns //// or vice versa......)

Maybe at a later time. Right now my brain hurts. lmao I'm trying to get a bunch of reloading equipment together for purchase and it's been a long day. Not to mention all the other crap that's needed to be done. Been up since 8:30am yesterday and still going and going and going. lol I'm running on fumes here at the moment.

TXplt, I don't think the Govt. will try to take the guns until sometime after S 1959, the Violent Radicalization and Home Grown Terrorism Prevention Act is passed. It was passed by the House but has not come up in the Senate yet. I E-mailed Ok. Sen. Tom Coburn asking him to vote No on this bill.

After this election there may be some major shake-ups and musical chairs.
