This is a awesome video. Its a australian 70s muscle car called the Ford falcon,GTHO phase 3.One of the quickest production cars australia has had.I am a holden fan but i would give just about anything for a GTHO.The race track is also very significant. Its Mount panorama at Bathurst. This track would be in the same league as the GTHO.The best race track in the southern hemisphere.I have driven around this track during the year when it turns back into a public road for the people who live on the mountain.Driving at the roads speed limit of 36mph down the dipper feels bloody quick. The V8 supercars are going well over 60mph through it.The camera just doesnt do this track justice. Its a LOT steeper than the footage shows.I hope you enjoy this video. The only thing i didnt like was the music.I would have much prefered to hear the cleveland sing by itself.
I have a personal affection for the Falcon XA and XB GT's... they remind me of having a Mustang Mach1 front end and a Torino GT cabin/rear end. Very muscle.
I just wish I could get ahold of some of those nice aluminum 351C 2v wedge heads they have over there!... My '72 Mach1 would be so much sweeter (and lighter) with those!

Definitely an option... but I go by the moniker "I don't pay to play." This extends to paintballing, shooting (I let my range membership expire), and just enjoying recreation in general. Now, admittedly, when we're talking cars, to repair/restore/resto-mod, it's going to cost money to buy the parts, and unfortunately the price of NEW heads runs around $1000 and up for a pair.
Maybe in a year or two I'll be able to afford that kind of "luxury", but right now the non-quench cast iron 2v heads I have in my 'stang will just have to suffice. Heck, I'm more worried about just getting it to a "drivable" condition right now... the engine runs fine; the dash and heater box are out due to the heater core leaking and shorting the blower motor. I don't want to fix that and install it back together yet though; there's cowl rust where you can stand outside the car, look down, and see where the passenger's feet should be inside. This area is easy to access with the dash out, so I left it out for two and a half years while I scoured around looking for a cowl replacement (they make them for 64 1/2 - 70, but not 71-73. Gr!) and finally found one about a year ago. I don't have the metalworking/welding skills to install it though, so I've been through three local tech schools trying to find one that's willing to have students do the work for a small fee or for free (parts paid for by me, of course).
Thing is, I don't really have time to be very 'concerted' with these efforts... due to working towards my graduation from the University of Washington with my chemistry degree in August (hopefully!).

One of my mates here has Black XY GT.It is VERY quick.Has a worked 351 cleveland with a GM 6/71 blower under the bonnet. It only has a hornet scoop to cover the carbs. He has lowered the engine so the belt and pulley are under the bonnet. But when the nats is on he raises it again. He has run high 10s in the quarter in it.
Nathan,i have a VS calais with a supercharged V6.Its too bloody quick. If i drive it i wont have a license. The 308 donks shit all over the mexican gen 3.
Man that HQ is fat.I have a lot of mates with very fast cars. All the old iron too.None of this 4 cylinder turbo crap.My mate has a HZ and has put a 500 plus cube crate motor in it.I cant wait until he puts the blower on it.

Reason: Automerged Doublepost
I finally realized I was getting a bit too aged for the speed, and got rid of my 396 Camaro in '98. I'd had that car since '74, and hated to do it, but it was getting to be a bit too much for me. The reflexes were slowing down, and I couldn't keepmy foot off the pedal! Still like to watch, though. And T2K, I guess I DID forget about that one!
Those Gen 111's are rubbish. If my car was a gen3 i would never have bought it. Every person i know that has had one all had problems.
That HQ sure does sound sweet doesnt it.
Man that HK has some balls.
Just A Car - Here is a website you might enjoy. They regularly have XA's XB's for sale. There are some good lookin cars on this site. Including my favourite the VL Walkinshaw. http://www.australianmusclecarsales..../muscle/aussie
