Gunfighter shows

Does anybody remember gunfighter shows? I remember when I was a kid in Oklahoma, they were common at amusement parks, fairs, carnivals, all kinds of events. Seems like there always troups of "gunfighters" for hire, that would put on shows. They were really cool, and some of the guys were serious about their costumes and weapons, they were very accurate & period-correct, and the guys did stuntman-quality stuff. Usually the law against the outlaws, lots of smoke and gunfire and flopping in the street.

Used to love that stuff! Do they still do them in this era of violence and fear? I haven't seen one in years.

I totally remember these!

Wow, it's been so long since I was reminded of them.

I think it was out in Bonnie Springs Old Nevada just outside of Vegas. I think they may still have them. Let me see here...

Oh...this'll make you happy: https://www.vegas.com/attractions/ou...iesprings.html

That's the stuff! Man, now I have to make some time to go again.

They used to be a common thing at Frontier City in Oklahoma City. They might still do it, but I think they toned it down or maybe even got rid of it after Six Flags bought them out.

In this day and age of mall, church and school shootings, snipers, serial killers, etc., I can just see the herds of terrified sheeple trampling each other if they didn't know one of these shows was going on.
