Cabela's sells a few kinds. Walmart should have the one by Uncle Mikes.

i found on ebay a sling and neoprene stock butt cuff that has holes for 9 rounds of ammo, and then i plan on stuffing some foam under where my cheek would be. im getting it for 14 shipped for the two, so that seems pretty cheap to me.

Try a neoprene knee brace, most sporting goods stores sell em. I also use one as an elbow pad when bench shooting (carpet covered bench gives burns).

Limbsavers seem to work too, I've heard. The small size Limbsaver is all you need for a Mosin.

Another option is a PAST that you put on your shoulder, instead of the gun. Just wear it under your shirt, and your buddies will be wondering, LOL!!!

Why would you want to protect your butt?
Something wrong with the shooting techinque, sounds like to me.
