Will other brands of dies work in a Hornady press

I am getting the lock and load ap, and am wondering if other brands of dies will work in it. I will be getting the dimension 2 die set which has the sizer and seating die...along with 100 free bullets, but I want to put a lee crimp die in there as well and am wondering if it'll work. Also, while I'm asking...besides the size/de-prime/prime, seat, and crimp...what would go in the other station beside the powder drop? Does the sizer die flare the case? I jsut need to know which dies I need to get for my setup....thanks.

Also, other than midway (the press is out of stock there)...is there anyone else that will offer the c&r discount that sells this press?

yes, other dies will work.

i am going to recommend the very first thing you buy is a couple of reloading manuals.

I already ordered the Lyman 48th, I was told it was one of the best ones.

Hey Roadie, I'm getting the same press. the only dies I saw that Hornady warned against was other brands crimp dies. Other then that, just make sure to use/get carbide dies or dies with the carbide inserts.

If you want to use Hornady's brands, they are Carbide inserted, like Dillon brands, and I found them really reasonable at Midway and Midsouth Reloading. In fact, they Midsouth, have the press, if you haven't bought it yet, for $344.99.

Anyhow, here's the NOTE:/Warning from Hornady on the crimp dies. This is copy and pasted from Hornady's site, Lock n Load AP press page.>>>>>>>>>>>

*Note: Some manufacturers taper crimp dies may interfere with the ejector wire when they are used in station 5. Hornady New Dimension Taper Crimp Dies are designed to work flawlessly in station 5. If you will be using dies other than Hornady, we suggest that you use our powder through expander and install the taper crimp die in the 4th station. Ejector wires are set at the factory and we DO NOT RECOMMEND adjustment.

Only thing I've found or was informed about.
