Suggestion: Be respectful in tone, but don't tell them what you want them to consider. Tell them what you want them to DO. I've had a tiny bit of experience in working around our state house and you really need to tell them what you want. THEN the most important thing is show up and walk the halls. If you really want this you need to get some volunteers and be there. (It's work) If you have a bicameral legislature you need to find a house and senate author to be your champions and carry the ball for your cause. They need to look up and see you standing there watching them vote. They must see faces. Hope this doesn't discourage, it's a good cause, but getting something passed is a big bite to chew. Good luck.

+ 1 I grew up in a family of Senators and Congressmen. Letters and petitions sit on a secretary's desk and are never seen. Strength in numbers and physical bodies there reminding them what you want and that you vote. Whether it's a politician or a shoe salesman it's easier to avoid someone who writes a letter than someone standing in front of you face to face. Be firm but not demanding. Be assertive but respectful. No matter what you think of them as a politician they were elected to office. Show their office the respect it is due but insist the respect you're due as a voter and a tax payer.

there could even be a compromise like you must have a level2 holster as bare minimum in order to open carry. i dont think that is unreasonable , some may but the first step is to get them to consider even allowing open carry. Level 2 is good enough for police it alleviates some of the statesmans arguments as seen in the forum that was linked earlyer ( page 3 in my browser)

Dropped back in

It seems to me that the "printing" concern is a non starter, not having heard of one incident of an arrest in this area, "brandishing" might be a more risky proposition.

Most of the lumps under outer garments seem in the supermarket, cell phones?
Some of the concealed carry by Police Officers is marginal at best (per good concealment) and no one seems to take note?

Was not the first carry law in Florida open carry? Quickly changed to concealed?

When the law was first under consideration for ANY type of carry, we were givent he choice to vote for in referendum: concealed or open - NOT both. The citizens voted for concealed carry.

Open Carry

We have open carry here in Virginia. I support people who choose to carry openly but it's not for me. I prefer to carry concealed to keep the element of surprise. Open carry can also lead to arguments with anti gun idiots that I don't have the patience for.
