What are the advantages/disadvantages in a rifle? I am going to order some ammo, and wasnt sure which way to go. I have about 300rds of HP that came with the gun.
Is there a difference in accuracy?
There is/was another thread/post about this and the majority stated HP is more accurate. Search the forum for it. Good read and info in it. But in short, yes HP is more accurate. Something about the hollowed point making it fly flatter if I remember correctly in what some said??? If I find it I'll link it in here for you Amarksman...

Well to be honest, the other debate/thread/post I speak of, if I remember correctly, wasn't specifically about Wolf brand ammunition though. Just a general observation/question asked? I looked for it and didn't find it. I looked in ammunition but I'll check my posts and see if I can find it that way easier?

That suprises me for some reason. When I look at the wolf HP I have at home, It looks like the hole gos all the way through the projectile. That seems like it would be less accurate. Maybe I need to take a look at it again...I don't know....hopefully I get some more feedback here
haha smileys..
Thanks glockmeister, we must have been posting simultaneously!
duh if it went all the way thro it wouldnt fire the lead bullet!!!LOL

I don't know for sure myself, but it wouldn't surprise me. It's probably something like how dimpled golf balls fly farther and straight than a smooth one would.
HP are more accurate because the bullets base is more uniform and the center of gravity is farther back making the bullet more stable and less likely to wobble. You also have a more uniform tip with no exposed lead to deform and cause aerodynamic problem. HP are usually made better than your run of the mill FMJ or SP bullet especially the match grade.

Very good point

Now thats the answer i was looking for. I have no idea what you are talking about, but it sounds reasonable to me!
