KITD/FOHS

How about this for a U.S. taxpayer/voter ID patch

It is a US SON TAY Air Force Element JCTG patch.
KITD/FOHS means Keep In The Dark/ Feed Only Horse Stuffing

Seen quite a few interesting patches in the Nam. I found one of mine pinned to that old flight suit, with my original set of wings. I'll try to get a picture of it, and add it to this thread. A friend of mine siad he'd never seen it, and I explained that we weren't allowed to wear anything on our flight gear, and were allowed only our I.D. and convention card on missions. The old fart reared back and eyeballed me, shook his head, and said, "you was a spook", as if that explained everything!

Ive always liked this patch. I have a friend that collects them. I think the KITD/FOHS applies to all of us now. If it gets some members to look up the Son Tay raid that's all the better.

Well, Jim, it looks like our patyches aren't that interesting, but I said I'd get mine out, and put it on, so here it is! Along with my original wings. I got 'em, but didn't get to wear 'em while I was there!

Thanks!! The stories that go with them are better than any history books.

I'm not a vet but I support all of them. Here is the Son Tay link The Son Tay Raid

"We are going to rescue 70 American prisoners of war, maybe more, from a camp called Son Tay. This is something American prisoners have a right to expect from their fellow soldiers. The target is 23 miles west of Hanoi." - Colonel Arthur "Bull" Simons

The storm cut off our dish, last night, so I wasn't able to put this on, but here it is. A lot of the Nam vets will recognize it, I even know a fella here in Ok. that has a tattoo that resembles it. Any way, there's a story behind this one. I had it put on my jacket in Danang, but when I returned to the US, for a school, I was forced to remove it. The reasoning was that many of the other students had just got out of boot camp, and I as an NCO, had to set an example for them. I kinda thought serving a year in Nam WAS setting a good example. Bottom line, I was threatened with NJP for disregarding an order, and ended up pulling the patch, along with an American flag that was on the right shoulder of the jacket. Some things never change!
