Refinished 91/30

I finished the work on my 91/30 today. I used red mahogany stain with a tung oil finish. I had to reblue the butt plate and and caps since the yahoo before me put crackle paint on them.

That looks great! You just reinforced to me that I don't want a glossy finish on mine, however. Steel wool for me. And red mahogany stain, makin' a note of that.....

You have to love the red mohog. Makes it look like a military rifle, only personalized. Good job, and I agree on steel wool to finish.

I like the shiny, too!!
The nice thing is, you can always dull it if you need to, but if you like it shiny, it's already there..

So now I'm supposed to start refinishing stocks on these things???

Bah.. I'm just going to shoot em..

I only refinished this one because of the bad shape the stock was in.
