| Senior Member | I have a friend of mine who was in the Gulf War. He was a gunner on an Abram's Tank. He said they would get bored, so a couple times, they shot a few camels with rocket launchers. He never did it, but was in the company of others who did. Kinda sick, but at least the critter didn't suffer.

| Senior Member | I haven't seen anything but the trusty old mossbergs. I've been there. sitting on post for hours on end, nothing happens, nothing happens, you start getting complacent and BOOM, sh*t hits the fan. Then you got guys that would take turn sleepin on post and nothing would happen. It's a good time over there. The fear of war isnt scary while your actually getting shot at. It's the calm of when your rolling down the street in a convoy and nobody is out and you know somethings up but you dont know where or when. Or sitting on post while nothing is going down. The worst feeling you will ever have is when you hear a man down on the radio, you can hear the fire fight going down a mile or so away and you are stuck on post and cant do anything about it. if your not in a firefight, you wait, and wait, and wait. so you have to try and find some way to have fun, like telling iraqi's to wear seatbelts, not to run with scissors and to drink milk.

Some people simply aren't suited for the military. This guy has the attitude that is pretty much required. I laughed I think the shotgun was something like this: Benelli M4 Super 90 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I was basically saying that some people are a very good match for the mindset and specific demands of a military lifestyle. I mean, I have no doubt that I could join any of the four major branches of the Armed Forces, pass the entry requirements, and perform all of the duties after training, but I wouldn't be happy doing so, as my personality makes me less inclined to desire, or excel in, a more regimented lifestyle. The young man in the video, however, seems perfectly at home, content, and fulfilled doing it, which is great, because those are the sorts of people I really love seeing in, the ones for whom the lifestyle suits them perfectly. Colin Powell actually described that well in an interview I heard, the way he felt he really found the place he belonged when he joined. I wasn't talking about capability, but desire. - Coeloptera

| Senior Bear Fluffer ![]() | LMAO!!! In all professions it is humor that helps people deal with the stresses of life. I saw it with medical residents and interns and in other professions. The young man is a Marine, scared, bored and a long way from home. His humor shows the grit of our servicemen and women. My hat is off to them all!
