These local leader's that love illegals should be ran out of office !
Why are they covered by our Bill of Rights when there here illegaly ?

I love this guy, old school. When there wernt any Feds to handle the problem he had all his deputies federalized.

ICE agents still accompany his deputies on raids anyways but still... Awsome.

And he isn't violating anyone's civil rights, correct?

As for racial profiling, this is occuring in Guadalupe, AZ, isn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong but is there not a sizable Latino population there? One could hardly help but get Latinos in a sweep, especially since, as the article states, 73 of 150 people arrested were illegals.

That's 48.7% of the people arrested and thus, by the numbers alone, about half of those arrested must be Latinos. So if you're seeing a large number of Latinos arrested, one must remember that at least 48.7% of all those arrested are both illegal and Latino. Add in the demographics of that region and a clear majority of those arrested will be Latino, based purely on those figures and simple enforcement of existing law.

I would say the data precludes a racial bias upon cursory examination.

I will also note that ICE has no reports of abuses by Arpaio's office. The gentleman can be as tough as he likes, but it seems he always abides by the law. I can't remember any civil rights charges sticking against him.

I'll just mention the last bit because it's irksome: "'If I see immigration officers,' he said, 'it's like I see the devil.'"

Now I think we're exaggerating just a touch here. In the US we're hardly as bad as all that. The worst that usually tends to happen is jailtime (if any outstanding warrents exist) or deportation of someone who has no legal right to be here.

Joe is not one to be caught up in the political arena. He is an "old school copper", that believes in enforcing the law, come hell or high-water. Most of your upper-command today are politically motivated. One would need to have even been in the law enforcement field of endeavor to understand the inner-departmental workings of the political vices at hand, where promotions to these upper command ranks are the issues. Many "old shoe street grunts", prefer to remain "street grunts", rather than to be caught up in this (bend over, I have the power)....political correctness society. This (IMO) seperates Joe from the chain of politics. This is (more than likely) why, he is re-elected by a "land-slide" vote margin each term, by the Maricopa County, Arizona voters. The numbers speak for themselves, I would think? As I said previously...You simply gotta' love Sheriff Joe , for his untiring law enforcement efforts, and the unique job he does for the people of Maricopa County.

I wish we had more just like Sheriff Joe Arpaio! He does a great job, ENFORCING THE LAW! That's why he is re-elected. "Illegal" means "not legal" therefore, in violation of the law. Go JOE! We, the taxpayers of Arizona support you!

Thank you for bringing your post up previously jerry. You have a right to your opinion and to post your thoughts. (If I may)..., Law enforcement has never been a popularity contest, but, (in many cases) can be a political contest if one chooses to be caught up into it's web. I would think Joe does not care much, about what any person or group of persons think about his law enforcement endeavors of enforcement, nor of him on a personal level. IMO, (as a former law enforcement officer), and... (respectfully speaking), if one does not wish any personal contact with Sheriff Joe..........Simply....

"Don't break the laws, within his jurisdiction, for which he has sworn to uphold"!

We need more like him, everywhere! I'd like to see the nation fence off our borders, post military people along the borders with loaded weapons, then start at the four corners of the country and round up the illegals. Work their way to the center and deport everyone who is illegal. Make the wetbacks swarm back to Mexico.
This country is full of people who hate us and they continue to drift in like the wind.

Almost a million dollars worth of settlements on two cases he's involved in.

The others are iffy. The Nick Tar case isn't as much so. Looks like they were trying to intimidate the guy by picking him up. I saw a pic of him and there's literally no way he could be mistaken for an officer.

We need more people like him.They take jobs away from americans,alot don't even pay taxes,and look at gangs like ms-13,where did they come from.The damm liberals are always sticking up for them.Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented worker" is the same as calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed Pharmacist".
