Nope, but then I wasn't looking for it. I did just find an M44 with Hex receiver though... so it could happen...

Even though I have promised myself to be good (???). I will still cruise the five Big5's in my area. Like everything else there is a lot of junk, but once in a while there is a gem.

I bought a really nice shape '43 Iz. ex-PU at a local Big5 - it's now restored back to "sniper" configuration with a "real" WW2 dated scope and mount, and "Boltman" repro bolt handle. Stock is fingerjointed, with many interesting markings etc. Pride and joy of my little Mosin collection.
Found another very good condition '43 ex-PU in a local gunshop - had been sold at Big5 shortly before I bought it, shop owner stated buyer "couldn't make it fire" so traded it in to him.........yeah well maybe the copious amounts of cosmoline packed inside it had something to do with that!! It's now restored and in my sons collection.

I might have to go down and have a look...see if I can find one. for $89, it's a steal. How much would it end up costing to re-sniper it?
