My sympathies go out to those on here that have pre-teen and teenage daughters. Thankfully I was given sons and they are grown now, but I cannot imagine the difficulty of trying to raise a young daughter when the present, and recent past, "role models" have been so obviously pure trash. I point to the Spears sisters pumping out kids while unable to take care of themselves, displaying their genitals to photographers and having problems with alcohol and drugs. Now Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana posing partially clothed takes the cake. Excuse me, but isn't taking photographs of underage girls without clothing (a bedsheet is NOT clothing) still considered child pornography in this country? SHE'S 15 YEARS OLD! If I had YOUR teenage daughter strip and wrap in a sheet so I could photograph her, the majority of you would have my butt in jail, the rest would shoot me on sight. There have been fathers and stepfathers put in jail for taking semi-nude photos of their daughters, yet this photographer claims the pictures are just "misunderstood" and is walking around free as a bird. How the hell is he not a pedophile and under arrest? How is Billy Ray not in court with Child Services investigating him for failure to protect his daughter?
As I said, with "role models" like that, anyone who is raising girls has my sympathy.
I hate to say it, but the New Golden Rule seems to be on point here:
"Them that has the gold, makes the rules."
I can't think of any other reason the publishers, editors and photogs who took the pix haven't been arrested for violating the statutes on child pornography.
The photographer's name is Annie Leibovitz. The bikinis they wear now a days covers less than the bed sheet does. I wouldn't let a child do it though. But what do you expect from Billy Ray? He is trying to get his career back through her if you ask me. Funny how she didn't have a problem with the photos until the media started saying something about them. Not much of a role model at all.

I stand corrected on the photographer's gender, but laws against child pornography don't separate by gender.
I wasn't trying to correct you. Just giving info on who the photographer was. She has been around for a long time. She has taken a lot of musicians/celeb photos. You have probably seen some of her work. I have to disagree with you. Real bad taste, yes. Child porn, no. People need to think before they do stuff. Especially celebs now a days.

morals or common sense. They are there so parents and agents can
get rich then discard the teen girl.
I explain to her over and over it is about decency, integrity, accomplishment, family, and religion as those are the only things that
will matter when the current crop of teen queens are forgotten.
Even at seven years of age she knows Brittney Spears is a

target and warp out kids....hey, ive hated viacom and companies like that for one reason or another since i was in 8th grade, i cant believe i use to bhe suckered in by that crap
the best thing that you can do as parents are get your kids involved in other activities, trust me i would know, i am a kid (sorta)
get them into the wonderful world of religion if you havent already (dont over-saturate it, because ive seen that to), do more adult things with them, take them to diner and interesting movies, encourage them to read certain books for school, TAKE THEM SHOOTING AND HUNTING (i cant think of anything that puts me in a better state)
hiking, fishing, camping, old school activities, dont become their friend, become their mentor

yea, bad move? definitely, based purely from a career standpoint, I haven't seen the pics(I would probably still be googling them if she were about 1.5-2 years older) but the definition of porn is pretty specific on small areas that have to be shown
people need to realize that celebrities are just regular people, they can mess up too, and not try to be exactly like their favorite celebrities. I'm not out there imitating OJ just because he was one of the greatest football players ever, maybe pacman jones(just kidding) and Michael Vick(kidding again), but not OJ

We all make enough mistakes as adults and teenagers have no idea how things like this will come back to haunt you in the future. Look at Monica Lewinsky and how she was exploited by an adult who was more interested in getting what he wanted and used the power of his office to get it. People in my generation and her generation will never forget what she did and instead of blaming Bill Clinton it will always be Monica who will be rediculed for it.

Our lives are based around real things. They know all about gardening, sewing, fishing, shooting, shopping . They read alot and spend time with their friends.

I too have a 12 year old daughter. she couldnt pick any of those people out of a line up. she did just get her hunter safety this month and will be getting a brand new 20 gauge shot gun next week. The other day she came and told me she wanted to take bow hunters safety and go bow hunting, I guess they have been shooting bows in PE class. anyway I guess people who use the TV as a baby sitter or a replacement for parents get what they get. But we have never had any trouble with that. I enjoy spending time with my kids and they dont have extra time to watch TV or get on the internet. cant control what they do at school but at least around me they are not getting thier minds filled with trash.
OH so I just looked up the pics on the web, they are really pretty wiered in my opinion. not just the nudes with the sheet but the one where she is laying in her dad's lap seems a little odd to me. definately in poor taste. I dont think this is about "some one just messing up because they are young" come on folks this kid is a commidity and you think she made the dission to do this with out all the interested parties being involved? please, she is 15 and is making people millions, there was someone pulling the strings for sure. Some one told her it was fine and to do it. and at least her father is supposed to be there to protect her and aid in such decisions, yet he was an active participant. that pic of the two of them together just looks really strange.

It is the record industry, hollywood, and big business that is doing this. They market all kinds of things to young kids, and it is nothing new under the sun. When you older folks were younger it was the Rolling Stones, the Who, and before that it was Elvis, and it was an outrage back then.
Now it is gangster rap, sex, violence, drugs, etc. I am sure those things existed back then, but they didn't have full channels of television dedicated to those things back then.
I work for an inner city school district and I can't stand how these young kids buy into the gangster rap scene. I for one, do in fact love hip hop music, but there is a huge difference between hip hop and that crap they play on the radio and TV about how you got to deal drugs and kill people to get by and make it big then cut a rap album. It is ridiculous.
The problem is that we as consumer buy into this crap and fuel it. Truth be told we need to not support these things and eventually it will drop and a new fad will take its place. There is no such thing as bad publicity in our consumer based world. Even though it is talked about and hated, it will mean that most of the people will tune in to see just how bad it is and to complain about it to others. I think the only way to beat things like this is to totally ignore it.

I have two daughters neither of which is teenaged, thankfully they came up well (no thanks to their mother), But they're good girls the oldest recently made me a Grandfather again and she and her husband are as happy as any new parents can be. Landon (my first Grandson) is a happy handsome looking lill rascal. Thank Goodness he looks like his Mom instead of Grandpa!

I just wanted to say I am impressed with this. Your daughters are leaps and bounds beyond most young women today.
I just don't understand how women parade themselves like that and expect men to respect them. They become a piece of meat. Nothing more.
