Girl Kept Her head, 2 Robbers Caught

A smart, resourceful Ohio girl and her mother between them captured two robbers who had broken into thier home while Mom was at work and the girl was home sick. No guns were involved, but it's worth noting that the mother took decisive action before the police arrived. Here's the link:

With intruders just feet away, teen texts for help - TODAY: People - MSNBC.com

And I think this story can stand as proof that when seconds count, the police are only minutes away. Not the fault of the police, there aren't enough of them to go around, but it's a fact we citizens have to take care of ourselves until they get there. This time, two citizens did.

Good story with a happy ending. The mothers action was rather ill-advised but what parent wouldn't react that way, fortunately the intruders were unarmed and no one was injured. The daughter sounds like a bright young lady.

I don't know if I would have hid in the bed, that would be a little to close for comfort. But then I would have gotten out one of the three guns in my nightstand and then maybe sat on the bed waiting for them to come in.

I live in a 1 story house so I would have grabbed my valuables, hopped out the window and drove off in their car(its not theft if you give it back) as I called the police. most burglars flip the matress to check under it don't they?

Glad it all turned out alright. One reason I keep my doors locked, home or not. Also, maybe had she made some noise, they'd of not even entered to begin with, but ya' never know. Either way, this time, it turned out for the good.
