Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you!

The caption read: Next time, I'LL take the photos and YOU let the bear out!

Good thing the bear trap got in on the act, or the ranger might have been a goner. It probably scared the bear away. Ranger probably stained his shorts too. He's got that "I'm too old for this sh!t" look on his face.

He WAS armed! With a .357 revolver it looks like. Big whoop. I'd bet the photog was quite a ways away, in a vehicle. I would have been.

Or they at least could have sedated the bear a little bit. Enough to get him out of the cage but not enough so that he'd turn around and attack.

i would think that you could get a simple pully and a rope or something and not have to get out of the truck to start with. i wouldnt get on top of that thing if i knew there was a bear in it.

I just caught that Rondog, thanks for pointing that out. I guess a 357 is better than nothing, you could do some damage if you threw it at a bear that size hard enough!

All joking aside, he should have either used his firearm, or had somebody else there to do it for him.

These pics are almost as old as the internet btw, there's a slightly more recent real video where the fishcop kills the bear with a 357 Maggie

In all fairness they probablly did that a 100 times before, with the bear high tailing it as soon as it was released.

Your right AM. I saw this video years ago. I think it took 4 or 5 rounds of 357 just to get the bear to stop charging.
If I remember correctly,it was a Nat. Geo flick on bears.
