Carbine mags will lock up and function in a c9. Not so vice versa. Go to the web site and you can get higher cap mags. Mine all ways goes bang but that heavy ass slide throws me off.

The HP 9mm is a great pistol; .380 as well (the larger calibers are too large and ungainly to carry). I finally put a rubber slip-on grip on mine since my hand slipped on the plastic when it was cold, hot, sweaty, whatever. Wow, the accuracy rate for me went up 90%. It was a cheap fix for a cheap gun that goes bang with any type of ammo, is really accurate if you can keep a good grip, and are easy to maintain. How many other pistols have adjustable sights at no extra cost. I couldn't go the carbine as they are not allowed for hunting and with the price of ammo going up, I can't have one just to burn ammo. You can't loose with a HP.

The carbine is in prototype at this time. Release date will probably be late 2008 early 2009. This is a picture of the new prototype stock.

I'm looking forward to the release of the Hi-Point .45 carbine, and will be right there at the local gunnery to get my copy. I'd better get to reloading more .45 so I'm ready for the release.

Would be nice if they'd let go of the chrome look...

Maybe if enough people shared their opinion, then Hi-Point might reconsider the chrome look?

I own the .45ACP and I hit the bullseye with my first shot. I need to get one of those slip on rubber grips. I never shot a 45 before but when I shot this I was a little worried I wouldnt like it but I was wrong. I want and most likely will make it my carry gun. Im taking it to take my CCW training. That 45 carbine looks good only in all black. I would get that for the home.

I just bought a High point .45 JHP to put on my Gold dredge Just in case...
It is a huge Gun , Looks new and was 110 Bucks...
I will test it out soon..

I saw one the other day, brand new, and the slide was off center from the entire gun. Amazing.

That must be their "tactical" model, with the off-centered slide, so it can shoot around corners better...

They certainly won't win a beauty contest, but hey...beauty is only skin deep and mine sure do shoot well, and would convert over to an effective club when bullets run out.

The High-Point isn't hated, just misunderstood.

The H-P .45 Carbine looks to have an actual top rail - very big improvement! The regular 9mm and .40 can have the iron sight OR the scope mount, but not both.
I'm not sure about the skeletal stock. They should use the new ATI aftermarket stock design - it's a real improvement!

Yes, they use the same mags. Also, the 380 & 9mm use the same mag, same part number, interchangeable. I had the 380 & it was extremely accurate, probably because of the weight of the gun? It was an excellent shooter, I never had a single misfire. I had 3- 9mm, (WalMart/Winchester white box) that were ftf. I kept them, tried to shoot them in my Bersa Thunder & none of them would fire. I pulled the trigger 3 times on each one, nothing happened so I can't "blame" the HiPoint. The HiPoint guns are favorites for first time shooters because they are a "handful" & they kick like a 32. Give them a chance, try one, you might be surprised.
