LOL it is a Storm XT, and I finally discovered the problem, sure enough, there was a part missing! but thankfully, I got it exchanged for another one, great little squirrel gun.

I bought a Quest and had a similar problem. The first time I tried to cock it I simply couldn't get it to ''break''. I really reefed on the thing and finally it worked. Never had another problem. If you have bought the same rifle that I think you did I would suggest replacing the scope mounts as the ones included are not all they could be.

I stopped being a coward, and have started to break the rifle over my knee, and yes, the scope mounts/scope aren't too great, so I will buying a new scope and mounts.
