| deer skin hats? Have any of you ever used deer skin to make a hat?Ive got a fallow skin being tanned and want to use it for something other than a rug.Thought about seat covers but my mate said it wouldnt be any good because the deer hair is hollow. What about a set of gators? |

| I don't see why it wouldn't work for a hat. And if it's a thick, mature hide, it'd be great for anti-snakebite gators. I've thought keeping a thick hide to make a saddle scabbard for one of my hunting rifles. Think that'd be kinda unique!

| Hey, my forebears used 'em for all kinds of great stuff. Shelter, clothes, saddles, braided rope, etc. We oughta be able to come up with one or two new uses!

| You could always use it for a gun sock. Leave the hair on for padding? Or you could make a new pair of underoo's. Then you could take a pic and send it to PETA (sorry, just got done reading that thread!!). But seriously, I quiver would be cool! |
