No one here has said anything against Mexicans. What we're upset about is having to work our a**es off to pay for all of the free benefits that ILLEGAL immigrants are reaping. I've never seen anyone here say a negative word about legal immigration and I've been on this site for six years.

People here have strong opinions. You'll get used to it and start voicing your opinion as well. Nobody has any hate for you. I have the same opinion about all illegal citizens be they European, Asian, African, Mexican, or whatever.

I certainly didn't intend for this to turn bitter, I just wanted to pass along something, which I found to be very irritating, it is a flag for goodness sake, and I don't think that the teacher did anything wrong. I can assure you, that if one of our children went to Mexico, and displayed our flag during the 4th of July, they would do the same darn thing.

I am not sure that you understand how privatized medicine works. If no one pays for it, then no one pays for it period. How are we tax paying citizens paying for this person's health care? There are government plans that use our tax dollars, but they barely scratch the surface of unpaid medical bills in our nation. They are just unpaid, which is why hospitals go into debt and some have to close down. They also pay for a lot of retired old people and military verterans. It is not like 100% of our tax dollars just go right into hospitals pockets for illegal immigrants.

Not quite true. Someone always pays. If a person's treated at a medical facility and can't pay, it still takes time and resources. Somehow these are paid for (by paying customers). The hospitals hike their rates, the medical staff are busier (and thus may well have to donate what would have been their free time, which, by the way, has a significant cost as well), and the people with insurance (or just plain paying on their own) now have to pay extra for the folks getting "free" medical care. There are no free lunches. These costs are passed on to the consumers in some way--the ones who get hit hardest are the ones who try to pay their bills like they're supposed to. When a hospital closes due to a financial burden, those who used to go there are now worse off as well--they've had to pay for others. There's always an opportunity cost to everything.

Same thing happens when someone gets into a car crash, and sues the other driver (often for just a minor scratch -- those "go sue someone" ads on TV make me absolutely furious). Who pays ? WE ALL DO. Have insurance ? Well, guess what--all those frivolous lawsuits are now tacked on to your bill. That cost is passed right on to the customers--it doesn't come from the insurance company.

What a hospital charges for one aspiran would but a case of them. I could get the best 5 star hotel cheaper for one night than one day in a hospital. The hospitals I see are building new wings every year.

And that is the kind of attitude that blew this story out of proportion. I do not believe that anyone in this has thread has made ill comments toward Mexico, we have only shown dislike for illegal immigrants. And by illegal immigrants, we mean from ANY country, not just Mexico.

I agree. When it all boils down. It's a piece of cloth...I still hold that opinion as I did in the American Flag thread.
