Thumbs down Buffalo New York Fire Department goes anti-gun rights

Buffalo Fire Department goes anti-gun rights , rekindle of 2001 assault on gun dealer - FF suspended/terminated because he owns guns and Administration says, "We are afraid of you because we know you have guns."

It seems the New Buffalo Fire Department Commissioner of Fire and his Deputy are "anti-gun." or as they said - "afraid of gun owner" .

Now , we all understand "No-Guns in the Fire House."

But these guys are taking it to extremes. They are trying to fire a Union Fire Fighter because as the Deputy and Commissioner said , "We know you have guns and we are afraid of you." This statement was made during a "Informal hearing" and witnessed by a Union Rep - who was on duty - completely dressed in street cloth and actually carrying a pistol at that time and even admitted it in-front of the Commissioner , Deputy and Fire Fighter.

No , the F.F. in question has never brought or threatened to bring one to work. He has never been even seen carrying one. He has never been accused of any gun related crime or incident - He is "Guilty" of being an X-federally licensed gun dealer and collector. Who now hunts and target shoots.

Some of you may remember - this is the same Buffalo Fire Department that back in 2001 tried to say because said F.F. had a "INTERNET website advertising" guns that he should be fired for second fronting (working) while off sick. (They considered a "website advertisement" a job.)

They are trying to save face (blow smoke over the true issue) by charging the F.F. with being "Out of uniform"- he was wearing a (approved commonly worn by many FF's) "Blue knit cap!" I guess you can now be fired for that .

As well as , because the gun owner complained about "selective enforcement" when he was being suspended and fired - he is then guilty of disrespect !

Local 282 Fire Fighters Unions response :
Can you say : POLITICS ?

As far as the Local 282 Union President is concerned , the F.F. can hang because the FF complained when Union dues fund (from non-PAC fund accounts) were used to fund a $26,000.00 plus political campaign donation to a personal friend of the Union President. There was never a total amount disclosed to the members , nor were Union members allowed to vote on the amount or who was getting the donation . No notice to dues paying members - prior to or after the money was spent.

(Did I mention the $26,000.00 went to a close Political/Personal friend of the Deputy and Union President , he is someone they grew up with.)

Said F.F. Union President is now rumored to be next in line for a high paying (Admin) Deputy (Political) appointment - his term as president expires this year. The Union dues paying Fire Fighters have already cast a "Vote of no confidence" against him.

Well I guess , when Admin controls the Union - and the Union is controlled by "Politics" - this is what happens .

What do you think ? What should the Union be doing ? Do you think because you own guns , you should be fired ? Should you be abandoned by your Union based on your "Political" views ?Whats your Unions stand on these issues - are you sure of what it is ? Did you ever ask ?

For more back ground info - search gunsonsale on this site. The actual website was taken down when the owner was trying to save his pension from being stripped by the BFD in 2001 and again now in 2008.

as a former union firefighter, I can tell you this is bull. You pay into the union to represent your rights, and your choices. This just goes to prove that political blood money can get you anything you want, as long as you are at the top of the pyramid...pisses me off

What business is it the fire deptarment to call someone on thier guns??? Should'nt they be putting out fires and getting cats out of trees? Sounds like some idiot is trying to justifie his job and thinks he's a homeland security gestope agent.

While I feel for the FF and think this is totally BS, I believe this thread should be in The Powder Keg, rather than here...

While I agree with Swede, the thread should be in the powder keg forum and not the AK47 forum, it is typical standard stereo-typing at it's worst. It's a sign of where things are heading and will get, IF WE LET IT!
